Sitting comfortably, begin with deep slow breaths that begin and end in your stomach. Say the following words to yourself in your heart.
Breathing in, I am here
Breathing out, it is beautiful
Breathing in, I am grounded
Breathing out, I am connected
Visualize the face of your loved one that you may be having difficulties with right now or from time to time in your relationship.
Imagine your love and its strength
Being like that of water
So strong and mighty
To carve out the path of a riverbed
Yet a strength that is flexible
And it pours through your fingers when you hold it in your hand
Sometimes the waters of your relationship
May be troubled and stormy
A sailboat tossed in a dark turbulent sea
Sometimes your relationship is like
A calm, placid lake
You can even hear the call of the loon sounding over the waters
And see your reflection in the waters when you look down
Yet both are water
Made up of drops
See your relationship as water
Visualize it and imagine it
Now see yourself as made up of the drops of that water too
We are the water
Your loved one is the water
The same drops can come together to form a
Calm tranquil lake
Or a stormy turbulent sea
Ripples spread out from you through the water
Are you and your loved one causing stormy surges and waves?
Are you causing beautiful peaceful ripples?
Your water is the same, and your ripples from each one of you affect the other
Your thoughts too
Imagine your thoughts are like drops into the water
And the ripples spreading out
Affect your loved one
Whose thoughts are made up of the same water
You are the water
And so is your loved one
Say these words to yourself in your heart
May we be free from stormy turbulent waves
And find ourselves in tranquility and peaceful waters
May the stormy waters settle
And may the life giving force of water nourish our relationship
May my actions and thoughts nourish my loved one
Like water for a plant,
like a river for animals,
like rain for crops.
We are water
We are one
We are Love.
